Reporting to the Foundation Director, Exhibitions Manager and archivist, the assistant Registrar/Archivist is responsible for the accurate and comprehensive record of all inventory, including location, condition, provenance, ownership, etc. In this capacity, they are also responsible for maintaining a comprehensive and up-to-date image archive for use by the entire staff.
Job responsibilities include: Maintain Certificates of Authenticity and inventory records (original artwork and edition tracking) in Gallery Manager. Coordinate conservation, framing and shipping of artworks by ensuring logistical organization, professional packing, shipping and local transport. Coordinate art handlers, and photographers as needed.
Maintain a comprehensive network of shippers, framers, photographers, conservators and temporary art handlers. Coordinate artwork intake/release to/from storage and related delivery.
Maintain a comprehensive, up-to-date archive of digital, video and print images on the database and the website and social media platforms.
This is a three day a week salaried position and the work is at the office location Monday-Wednesday from 10-6.
