The Fondation Beyeler is one of the internationally renowned and most visited museums in Switzerland. Situated in an idyllic park in Riehen near Basel, the museum building designed by Renzo Piano is considered one of the most beautiful art houses in Europe, as it harmoniously combines nature, architecture and art. The Fondation Beyeler is home to one of the world’s finest private collections and presents and continuously presents high-quality exhibitions of modern and contemporary art. In accordance with the wishes of its founders, it is particularly committed to communicating art to the general public and to young people.
As of December 1, 2021, for a limited period of two years, we are looking for an Assistant Restorer 100%
Responsibilities
Conservation treatment and research of the collection works
Collaboration in interdisciplinary conservation projects
Conservational supervision of temporary exhibitions
Processing and supervising loan transactions and accompanying courier trips
Supporting the conservators in all day-to-day work in the museum
Participation in communication work of the conservation department in the museum and on online platforms
Requirements
A diploma or master’s degree in conservation and restoration from a university or university of applied sciences
Professional experience in the field of paintings and sculptures from classical modern to contemporary art
German spoken and written, good knowledge of English, knowledge of French an advantage
Good IT user skills (Office, image processing, database)
Independent, structured and quality-conscious way of working
Ability to supervise several projects at the same time
Ability to work under pressure, flexible in terms of time and in a team
Communicative, proactive and creative person with enthusiasm for museum activities
