Gladstone Gallery seeks an Assistant to Partner. The ideal candidate should have +2-years’ experience working in an administrative and sales support position in a commercial gallery, auction house, or similar arts-related setting, as well as proficiency with art database systems such as ArtBase and sales tools like ArtBinder, well as knowledge of contemporary art. This position will be responsible for a wide range of administrative duties supporting the Partner. The successful candidate must have impeccable attention to detail and follow-through; this role requires a highly organized individual who is capable of multi-tasking various priorities in a fast-paced environment. Position requires a proactive person with experience meeting deadlines, administering tracking projects, consignments and loans, as well as maintaining a travel calendar. The successful candidate possesses an acute attention to detail; excellent written and oral skills, phone etiquette and polite demeanor are also essential.
The primary job responsibilities include:
Providing sales support by drafting correspondence and offers, by monitoring auctions, updating sales tools, writing descriptions of artworks, and market research.
Assisting with planning, organizing and realizing exhibitions by gallery artists—within the gallery as well as outside institutions, including acting as a liaison with artists’ studios on behalf of Partner and the gallery.
Assisting Partner with administrative tasks by organizing calendars, coordinating meetings, tracking and confirming post-sales logistics, administrative support for loans and consignments.
Communicating installation logistics with gallery staff for viewings and to relay Partner’s schedule.
Managing appointments and calendar for both personal and professional events and international travel.
Organizing travel arrangements, accommodations, and itineraries, including: flights, hotels, cars, and reservations.
Position works at the 24th Street gallery, Tuesday through Saturday from 9:30am-6pm with additional hours as needed for opening events and tasks for Partner.
