Reporting to the Director and the endowment fund’s board and working closely with the other team members of KADIST, the Collection Manager will be in charge of the administration, archiving, conservation and visibility of the Paris section of KADIST’s collection (over 800 works) and participate in all the activities of the institution (residencies, exhibitions, offsite programs, commissions).
Responsibilities:
Collection (60%)
Administration and conservation of the collection:
Managing of collection inventory and logistics (shipping, storage, archiving, conservation, insurance) for Paris and Geneva storages
Administer external loan requests
Follow internal loans for international offsite projects
Liaise with San Francisco colleague for technical aspects of Kadist Video Library (KVL)
Collection development and visibility:
Organization of acquisition meetings (next in October 2021) and liaison with acquisition committee
Liaise with collection artists, advisors, curators or partners’ staff in the context of temporary exhibitions and projects
Manage acquisitions of artworks and of artistic licenses
Select, train and supervise research Fellows or interns working on the collection
Manage the archive of the collection online and physical library
Development of partnerships with institutions in relation to the collection:
KVL and Arpedia
Schools or Universities (Fellowship)
Administration assistant to Director (10%)
The Collection Manager will also assist the Director on day-to-day administrative tasks and reports. She/he will follow the acquisition and collection management budget closely with the Director.
Online content (30%)
The Collection Manager will be in charge of:
Managing and updating the website for the programs and the collection
Monthly newsletters, for local programs, and in liaison with San Francisco for Online or International
Produce and coordinate collection-related editorial content for online platforms:
artwork texts for website (oversee editing and translation), organize interviews with collection artists (Kadiviews), short videos for social media (Kviews), uploading videos on vimeo, representation of the collection on social media
- Coordinate archiving of events
Qualifications:
. Minimum 4 years of professional experience within the art world, preferably collecting institutions or commercial galleries
. MA in Art and Cultural Management and related fields
. Excellent knowledge of contemporary art and its networks
. Strong organization and logistics skills
. Excellent knowledge about the administration and conservation of contemporary artworks
. Excellent knowledge about the commercial art world
. Motivation and interest in video and online editorial projects
. Strong ability to adapt, to work autonomously and in groups
. Excellent writing abilities
. Excellent spoken presentation
. Strong computer skills including: Google Sheets and Xcel, Google Survey, In Design, Photoshop, Filemaker, WordPress, etc.
. Fluent in French and English, spoken and written

Information about the contract:
35 hours/week
Beginning of the contract: end of August/early September 2021 (includes training period)
Type of contract: CDD (French temporary contract) evolving into a CDI (long term contract).
Salary: 2544,69 Euros (“salaire brut”: including social security, healthcare and taxes). After six months, additional bonus in relation to a MBO review process.
