The work within the Community Engagement (CENG) Department supports organizational goals of lasting community impact through consistent off-site engagement and service, listening, and ongoing support tailored to the specific needs of each community partner. The goal is to have a positive impact on the infrastructure of our region, working from the ground up, as a team.

Reporting to the Community Engagement Manager, the Community Engagement Coordinator supports the development of departmental initiatives and is responsible for coordinating logistics and facilitating assigned programs and initiatives. Initial projects include mapping communities to define geographic areas of focus and potential community partnerships, and coordinating all departmental documentation and presentations of engagement initiatives both for community partners and for Glenstone leadership and staff. Other duties include coordinating data gathering, tracking, and metrics analysis for research initiatives that support departmental goals.

The Community Engagement Coordinator will work closely with associates at all levels of the organization as well as with external community partners. The role requires excellent communication and relationship building skills and strong cultural competency.

Responsibilities
  • Create and manage a reporting system to keep track of initiatives, metrics, mapping, and other data.

  • Working with CENG Manager, develop the approval framework for introducing new programming.

  • Regular correspondence and follow up with key partners and organizations.

  • Organize all internal communication efforts for staff engaging in Glenstone-sponsored and associate-choice volunteering events throughout the year.

  • Work closely with the Communications department to share Glenstone’s community engagement initiatives on print, social media, website and other platforms.

  • Create and manage internal and external engagement surveys and oversee the distribution process.

  • Prepare monthly visual presentations to share with Glenstone leadership and staff on community engagement research and findings.

  • Create, manage, and update CENG contacts lists (email/phone/address etc.) to support the department’s continual communication with external organizations.

  • Represent Glenstone at off-site community events and meetings.

  • Work with Glenstone staff and coordinate off-site logistics including internal and external staffing, transportation, supply usage, and guest service for off-site events.

  • Assist Glenstone staff and external partners with real-time engagement and support with initiatives and events.

Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience (or a combination of experience and education) in research and analysis in social services, education, humanities, cultural institutions, or similar field.

  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to establish priorities.

  • Excellent records and database management skills.

  • Experience interacting with racially and ethnically diverse and urban communities.

  • Strong cultural competence, interpersonal communication, planning, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and weeknights as scheduled in advance.

  • Proficient in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.

  • Desire to learn and become proficient in software specific to the role including GIS mapping software (ArcGIS), visual data analysis (Tableau), customer relationship management (CRM), ticketing (Ticketure), reporting (Power BI), and surveys (SurveyMonkey).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Able to communicate in Spanish as well as a familiarity with ESL and ESOL programming.

  • Experience with data gathering and statistics, specifically GIS mapping (Power BI maps, ArcGIS, Azure Maps, etc).

  • Experience with visual data analysis software (Tableau, etc.)

  • Some experience working in the field of social work.

  • Experience with graphic design software (Adobe Suite, etc.) in order to work with Glenstone design staff to communicate data visually.
