Los Angeles-based artist seeks a Digital Production/Pre-press Associate responsible for executing digital filework and output.

The ideal candidate will possess high technical proficiency with masking, compositing, using paths, and all-around knowledge of Photoshop tools and techniques. Tasks may be complex, unconventional, and are highly detail oriented. Experience with digital printing and large-format Epson printers, and in film printing and file set-up for silkscreen processes are ideal.

Under the guidance of the Digital Supervisor, the Digital Production Associate will be encouraged to independently problem-solve to achieve desired results, and strategize ways to translate the Artist’s ideas and drawings into large scale production.

Responsibilities
  • Digital file work on behalf of the Artist and Studio.

  • Maintain all digital work files, labeling and archiving according to Studio protocols

  • Finish specs as needed for scale, registration, separation, and film outputs

  • Contributes to Studio art production manuals, closely collaborating with the Digital Supervisor and Studio team

  • Support studio projects and organization, as required, including digital equipment management, technical troubleshooting, vinyl cutting, and other digital services

  • Support and collaborate closely with the Digital Supervisor and Studio team members

Requirements
  • Expert proficiency is required in digital imaging, compositing and printing using Photoshop, Illustrator, and large format inkjet printers and plotters

  • Expert knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, digital photography, digital output, color profiles and file formats

  • Knowledgeable and up-to-date on film production and RIP software

  • Past experience with both analog and digital printmaking processes a plus

  • Past experience with video production, audio production, and architectural modeling software including Sketchup, After Effects, Rhino, Premiere, and Logic a plus

  • Excellent time management skills and ability to adhere to established production timelines

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills

The ideal candidate is available for a full-time schedule which may be flexible to include evenings and weekends.
