Exhibition installation, preparation, maintenance & disassembly to include hanging artwork using museum standards for handling art in safe manner, and planning for the order and purchase of prep supplies, frames, and other exhibition preparation materials. On and offsite exhibition installations.
Work closely with museum registrar and curators in all areas of collection care. This includes working closely with registrars, curators, couriers, university administration, museum administration, guest curators, donors, and lendors.

Pack and crate art work and at times transport artwork. Construct crates for art shipping.
Matting and framing of artwork.
Design and construct exhibition furniture, including mounts and pedestals for artwork.
General painting and patching of gallery walls.
Prepare orders/purchase of prep supplies, frames and other exhibition preparation materials.
Responsible for maintaining and changing light bulbs in museum galleries as needed.
Assist staff members with set up and break down of tables or equipment for events.
Other duties as assigned.
Bachelor Degree, and/or combination of work experience and education,
AND:
0-18 months museum exhibition experience
Skills:
Able to work well with interdepartmental teams and initiatives
Knowledge in the areas of art handling and installation
Design and construction skills necessary for crates and exhibition furniture
Matting and framing knowledge and experience
Exhibition gallery design
Knowledge of conservation requirements/standards for artwork and museums
Critical thinking
Knowledge of mount making
Woodworking skills
Ability to work under deadlines and pressure
Certifications:
Driver’s license to drive university vehicles
Advertised Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift 50 pounds. Must be able to climb, crouch, pull, push, reach, stand, engage in repetitive motions, communicate, hear, including receiving detailed information orally, see including color, depth, perception, and clarity and grasp.
Departmental Preferences:
Bachelors degree in art or related field preferred.
MFA degree preferred.
