Job Description
The Wende is looking for a skilled, adaptable professional to provide a wide range of administrative and logistical support to the Executive Director. As the Executive Director is the Wende’s founder and lead fundraiser, this position sits within the Wende’s Development Department and includes administrative as well as development-related responsibilities.
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Executive Assistant also works closely with the Development Specialist, Head of Visitor Engagement, and other Wende staff.
This position is ideal for an energetic self-starter with previous experience assisting a busy executive and/or working in a small or midsized nonprofit arts organization.
Key Responsibilities
Provide administrative and logistical support to the Executive Director, including drafting correspondence, running errands, and planning travel
Support the Executive Director with major-donor stewardship
Provide administrative, logistical, and hospitality support for development events and VIP visits to the museum
Provide administrative and logistical support for Board meetings
Cooperate with the Director of Finance and Development Specialist by gathering and organizing the Executive Director’s expense receipts
This position requires the flexibility to work an unconventional schedule, including some evenings and weekends, to support the Executive Director with donor visits and special events. A flexible, hybrid on-site/remote arrangement is available, with the understanding that while some of the role can be performed remotely, regular on-site attendance is required for this role, including for some night and weekend events.
Compensation commensurate with experience
Medical/dental/vision benefits, 10 days paid vacation, paid sick time, and holidays.
This is a full-time position available June 2022.
Required Qualifications
Professional verbal and written communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (in particular Word and Excel), Apple OS, and Google Docs
Project management experience in a public-facing environment
Valid California Driver’s License and reliable automobile with insurance coverage for use on the job
Willingness and availability to work some nights and weekends, as needed
