Salary Range:
Up to 45000.00 (USD) Annually
OBJECTIVE:
Coordinate and communicate with museum departments and outside parties regarding all aspects of special exhibitions, including tracking and maintaining special exhibition project schedules, processing and organizing project budgets and documentation, tracking budgets and facilitating team members in adhering to and managing project and other schedule deadlines. In this position, the Exhibitions Coordinator will work collaboratively across numerous departments.
Serve as liaison between the curatorial department and all other museum departments with regards to all aspects of special loan exhibitions, including providing timely and meticulous updates on planning and development of special exhibitions across numerous departments
Assist the Chief Curator with day-to-day departmental business
Support the Curators in preparing loan request letters for special exhibitions and with gathering images and permissions for special-exhibition publications and mail complimentary copies of catalogues to donors and image-right owners
Create and update all special-exhibition checklists on FileMaker as needed and communicate any changes in a timely manner across departments
Support the Registrar for Exhibitions in managing loan requests for special exhibitions
Support the Registrar for Exhibitions and Chief Preparator in coordinating the installation of special exhibitions
Support the Chief Curator in scheduling and organizing strategic planning meetings for special loan exhibitions
Support Registrar for Collections in the planning and implementation of the museum’s touring exhibitions
Maintain advance special exhibitions schedule
Act as a courier for artworks traveling nationally and internationally, as needed
Perform other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in art history, arts management, or arts administration, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Two to three years of experience in a museum, gallery, or other visual arts setting
Excellent organizational, communications, and interpersonal skills
Ability to assess priorities, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and work effectively within a team structure
Strong writing and editing skills
Exceptional attention to detail
Experience maintaining financial records
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and FileMaker
