Los Angeles based, high-end fine art handling company seeks a full-time, experienced, and professional builder to join our team as a Crate Shop Foreman. At ACLA, we are renowned for and specialize in crating and packing of all forms of fine art and work on many challenging and exciting projects.

This job offers a unique insight into the art world from the perspective of the artist, gallery, museum, and collector. As a premium fine art company, ACLA provides installation, rigging, transport, packing, crating, and storage of fine art.

Responsibilities

At least 4 years of professional practice as a wood worker is a must with a hands-on background in either crating, creative/sculptural woodworking, cabinetry, furniture making, or general carpentry preferred. 2 years of shop management or equivalent leadership experience preferred, but highly qualified candidates still considered.

Requirements

All applicants must have a positive, progressive attitude and experience working in groups. A developed sensitivity for interacting with clients and personnel, and understanding of job site decorum are a must. Required skills will include product quality control, general shop management tasks including: schedule management; material management; and tool maintenance. Additional skills required include box truck driving, forklift and scissor lift driving, critical thinking, project planning, and crate designing.
