Atelier 4 Inc, known as the leaders in fine art logistics for 33 years in New York, Miami, Los Angeles and Charlotte seeks an energetic person to fill the role of Experienced Dispatcher in our New York office. Position Summary
We are seeking an Experienced Dispatcher for full-time employment in our Long Island City, NY office to be a key contributor in assuring our services meets or exceeds our customers’ expectations. Our NYC Dispatcher creates schedules and routes trucks for our local and Tri-state daily operation, supervising up to 10 technicians and drivers per day. Atelier 4 Inc. provides installation, transport, packing and crating for all forms of fine art. All applicants must have positive, progressive attitudes and experience working in groups.
Responsibilities
Local dispatch duties:
Create schedules & assign drivers on routes.
Contact & confirm deliveries to clients, keeping them informed of appointments etc.
Share calendars to company’s Sales team for availability & delivery scheduling.
Monitor daily progress of truck teams & assigned tasks, rescheduling as necessary.
Prepare BOLs & Day-sheets, distribute paperwork for completed projects.
Communicate sales assigned job requirements to drivers and technicians.
Note: There will be a three month probationary period to provide training and to assess new hire’s abilities at the supervisory level.
Quality control duties:
Assure company standards are employed and achieved by art handlers.
Confer with Sales team regarding jobs in progress and changes in scope.
Coordinate truck repair & maintenance with Ryder and service providers.
Requirements
Qualifications
Two+ years employment in art handling or similar supervisory position.
Experience working on computer-based systems & with heavy email traffic.
Knowledge of art handling practices, materials, and protocol is preferred.
Strong communication skills, both written & verbal; experience with MS-office & excel.
Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.A.
Employment subject to Transportation Security Administration STA approval.
Note: This position may include assignment of building keys & alarm codes, to be distributed after training period. Criminal background check to be run at the company’s discretion.

Salary Range: $60K to $75K DOE
