Solid Art Services is a fine art services company offering art handling, trucking, fabrication and storage.
Solid is looking for an experienced Tech to support the Fabrication Department two to four days a week. The ideal candidate has a positive attitude and is a detail oriented collaborator. They are proactive and able to work within a timeline.
Responsibilities
Support Fabrication Department by building custom crates, travel frames, pedestals and other fabrication projects
Packing crates to specifications
Safely operate power tools and equipment
Perform wood shop maintenance and take inventory of wood shop stock accordingly
Prepare fabrication estimates and packing instructions as needed
Load and offload artwork, crates and supplies as needed at warehouse
Other tasks as assigned
This is a part time, hourly, position starting at two to four days a week which are flexible. Possibility to grow over time
Requirements
Two years of experience with woodworking, carpentry and/or fine art crate fabrication
Art handling experience preferred but not required
Ability to read, process and execute crate designs and specifications
Proficiency with wood shop tools and best practices
Ability to safely lift 50lbs individually
Positive attitude, strong work ethic and professional demeanor
