Facilities Coordinator
Artist Studio
Established artist studio is seeking a full time Facilities Coordinator. The applicant must have the ability to keep track of multiple projects and to manage and maintain numerous systems and infrastructures, simultaneously. The applicant must be able to prioritize and get things done efficiently and with great attention to detail while working within established studio systems. A successful applicant will be a proactive as well as kind team player, have common sense, and exhibit a quality work ethic. Excellent computer and communication skills and the ability to learn quickly and be adaptive are a must.
Position is full time with benefits
This is a 5 days per week, on-site position (with occasional work on weekends or after hours, in emergency situations)
Studio hours are Monday - Friday, 9am to 6pm
Core responsibilities include:
Oversee the care and maintenance of studio buildings and grounds across several locations
Maintain and manage systems for regular maintenance of all studio buildings, appliances and equipment
Track and support long term goals and improvements for studio facilities and infrastructural systems
Work with established studio vendors and contractors while also building new relationships
Schedule and supervise repairs and outside contract workers
Operate as a first point of contact for emergency responses
Work collaboratively and coordinate daily with studio staff, including the executive team
Supervise the Facilities Tech
Areas of responsibility include:
Fire and security
IT and phone
Studio-wide data-management systems
Supply and equipment storage
Emergency protocol systems
Vehicle purchases and maintenance of studio fleet (trucks, van, forklift, etc)
Building maintenance, improvements and repairs (mechanical, electrical, plumbing, roofing, etc)
Fencing and gates
Waste disposal
Requirements:
Reliable transportation
Project management experience
Supervision/management experience preferred
Ability to use power tools and equipment safely, if necessary
Good communication skills, a strong sense of responsibility and ability to deliver results
Knowledge and experience with renovations and construction (reading plans, interfacing with contractors, etc.) is preferred
Familiarity with the artworld environment and sensitivities required to work around artworks
A keen eye for detail and aesthetic congruity
Strong sense of discretion and confidentiality
Ability to lift 30+ lbs, unassisted
