YSDS seeks a qualified art handler to work on a full time basis. Positions are available for Entry-Level Art Handlers or more experienced handlers.
Work in a relaxed and upbeat office atmosphere in Manhattan with the opportunity to move to Industry City, Brooklyn later in the year.
We work with some of the top auction houses, galleries and other institutions, handling a wide variety of mediums.
The Ideal candidate will be able to take instruction, maintain a high professional standard in their technique, and be able to work as part of a team and individually including managing data through electronic shipment management platforms.

Responsibilities
Responsibilities including, but not limited to:
Assist other Art Handlers in packing artworks
Collaborate with members of the logistics team in coordinating collections
Communicate any change in location, condition or shipping status of a given artwork
Ability to work as a team or individually to complete the task at hand in a timely and efficient manner
Maintain a clean and safe work environment
In Conjunction with the logistics and shipping team, ensure shipments are safely packaged and are destined to the correct client
Enter data into shipment management platforms
Requirements
Experience preferred in handling and packaging artworks across a range of media (Prints, paintings, framed works, sculptures)
Knowledge preferred of industry standard best practices and materials
Capable of comfortably lifting 50 or more pounds
Valid NY state driver’s license and the willingness to drive (Sprinter) and do collections is strongly preferred
Professional appearance and demeanor
We are willing to train Entry Level applicants as well.
