ANNOUNCING FULL- and PART-TIME SUZUKI INSTRUCTOR and COORDINATOR positions in VIOLIN, VIOLA, CELLO (Wilmington and Milford, Delaware) – The Music School of Delaware seeks excellent teachers to expand our standard-setting, regionally recognized and growing Suzuki Academy, serving students from DE, NJ, MD, and southeastern PA. We seek to fill multiple instructional positions in violin, viola and cello, including lead teacher, coordinator, and entry level positions. Minimum of a Master of Music in Violin, Viola, or Cello Performance and/or Suzuki/String Pedagogy. Significant registered Suzuki training is preferred, and a commitment to continue training is required. 2-3 years of administrative experience is desirable for coordinator position. Teaching videos and evidence of playing ability are requested. Teaching may include Individual lessons, group classes, theory classes, and chamber music coaching. Salary commensurate with experience and training. Responsibilities

Teaching includes violin, viola and cello lessons, group classes, possible theory classes, and small ensemble or chamber music coaching. Our academic year is 36 weeks, including private lessons and group classes. Full-time and part-time salaried instructors are required to teach 6 weeks during the summer session. Candidates must be positive collaborators, team builders, and individuals dedicated to building community within the department, school, and general community.

Requirements

Minimum of a Master of Music in Violin, Viola, or Cello Performance and/or Suzuki/String Pedagogy. Suzuki training through Book 4 or higher is preferred, and commitment to continue to advance training through additional book levels is required. 2-3 years of administrative experience is desirable for coordinator positions. Teaching videos and evidence of playing ability are requested. An in-person interview for those who make it to the second round will be required.
