Maquette Fine Art Services is interested in adding exceedingly talented technicians to our highly reputable crew.
To fill the role of a Pack Shop Technician, Maquette is looking for motivated art handlers open to learning a new skill set. The Pack Shop offers the opportunity to learn specialized skills in museum packing standards. Qualified candidates should have art handling experience but do not need museum packing experience to apply.
Work will primarily take place in house during business hours, but onsite work will be required for projects varying in scale and scope.

Reporting directly to the Pack Shop Manager
A full time packing technician will be responsible for the safe handling and packing of various types of works and objects.
Minimum of 3-5 years’ professional experience handling and packing various types of objects and artworks.
Applicants must be self motivated while being able to work within a team environment.
Knowledge of packing materials and safe handling methods
Ability to manage and maintain accurate paperwork for the projects executed
Experience interacting and working with clients in person
Ability to carefully move heavy, fragile, and/or odd-shaped objects
Strong familiarity with crating construction, strategies and techniques.
Strong technical skills in the safe use of hand tools and power tools, both in the field and in a shop environment
Ability to interpret and respond to cut sheets, packing diagrams, and pack lists
