Jeffrey Deitch Gallery in Los Angeles seeks a positive, friendly, highly organized, hard-working professional for a part-time to full-time Gallery Administrative Assistant position. We are looking for a team worker who is detail-oriented and willing to help with different duties. Applicants should be highly organized, able to prioritize various tasks, and work well within a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities include greeting gallery visitors, answering phones, opening and closing the gallery, assisting the directors and registrars with a variety of projects, event organization, database entry and managing and updating the gallery contact list.
The Gallery Administrative Assistant will also help with duties such as taking pictures of artworks, packing and wrapping artworks. Responsibilities may also include creating sale offerings, checklists, and press releases, archive maintenance, archiving gallery press, maintaining organization of the press and image archives. The ability to use Adobe CC (esp. Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) is a must. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Prior gallery experience and knowledge of contemporary art is preferred. Hourly rate of $35 with health insurance included.
Requirements include but are not limited to
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Art
Experience with MS Office (Word, Excel) and Adobe CC (Acrobat, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
Basic knowledge in working with cameras
Perfect phone and email protocol
Excellent communication skills
Eager to learn new programs and self motivator
Positive attitude and a team-worker
