Baert Gallery is seeking a Part-Time Gallery Assistant to act as the gallery’s first point of contact and manage its day-to-day operations. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, have a strong attention to details and the ability to communicate effectively and diplomatically.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Work with the public in administrative capacity, greeting visitors, answering phone calls, and facilitating client visits
Manage the gallery’s reception areas, maintaining general tidiness and monitoring office supplies inventory
Assist with installation, de-installation, and shipment organization
Maintain a thorough understanding of the gallery’s program and be prepared to answer visitors’ related questions
Act as a keyholder, opening and closing the gallery on a daily basis
Preparing and updating checklists and price lists for exhibitions and private viewings
Update and maintain email and mailing lists in Artlogic
Catalogue artworks in the gallery database using Artlogic
Update and maintaining the gallery’s website in Artlogic
Creating, editing, and proofreading artist CVs
Updating exhibition previews on InDesign when needed
Assist with coordinating gallery events
BA is required, preferably in a related field
At least one year of experience working in contemporary art or similar environment is preferred
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Ability to prioritize and juggle multiple tasks
Must be extremely organized and detail oriented
Skills in the Adobe Creative Suite
