Jackson Fine Art is seeking a full-time gallery assistant. Jackson Fine Art has a near 30-year history in supporting fine art photography artists and collectors, providing both emerging and established collectors with world-wide access to the best fine art photography of the 20th and 21st centuries, across both traditional and innovative photo-based mediums. This position is responsible for helping the sales team with client presentations, assisting the Shipping Manager/Preparator and Registrar, and general gallery maintenance. Primary responsibilities include greeting clients, maintaining aesthetics of gallery space, supplies management, clerical upkeep, assisting with openings and events and supporting other departmental needs. Must be highly organized, detail oriented and have excellent communication skills.

Requirements
  • Interest in and knowledge of 20th & 21st century photography preferred.

  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Ability to efficiently execute multiple projects at once

  • Outstanding interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills

  • Strong initiative and work ethic with flexibility to respond to and take action in changing circumstances, often under pressure

  • Ability to interface professionally and discretely with clients

  • Proficiency in inventory management systems, Google platforms, Microsoft Office, Adobe, and other standard office procedures and equipment.

  • Experience driving cargo vans preferred; must have a valid driver’s license

  • Ability to safely handle high valued artwork – Installation experience a plus

  • Physically demanding. Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
