ELY Inc. is a small museum services company located on in the DC area. Since 1998 we have been working with museums of all sizes and private collectors, both locally and nationally, to install, deinstall, mount, pack, crate, and store collections.
LEAD ART HANDLER
ELY, Inc. is looking for a full-time, experienced art handler to join our team. Candidates must have 3 – 5 years prior experience handling artwork and/or artifacts for galleries or museums, including installation, packing, and crating. Position is hourly with the potential to become salaried for the right person.

Responsibilities
RESPONSIBILITES
Experience handling and moving 2D and 3D objects and artworks
Installation and deinstallation of 2D and 3D artwork and objects
Experience in packing and crating of 2D and 3D artwork and objects
Experience leading team/projects
Ability to work well in a team as well as on individually assigned tasks
Experience packing and creating custom packaging for objects
Knowledge and ability to operate basic hand tools, power tools, and shop tools
Attention to detail and ability to work efficiently
Good communication skills

REQUIREMENTS

Ability to lift 50 lbs.
Available to travel several months out of the year for installation and deinstallation of major traveling exhibitions is a plus
Positive and professional attitude
Minimum bachelor’s degree, master’s degree preferred, or equivalent experience
Must have a valid driver’s license
