Powell Fine Art Advisory, a full service art consultancy is looking for an experienced Full-Time Lead Fine Art Handler to be part of our dynamic team based in Brookline, MA. As an Art Handler, you will play a critical role ensuring the safe, efficient movement and installation of artworks, working closely with the advisory team and external vendors. The Art Handler will play a crucial role in handling and installing a wide range of art pieces in various settings, including private residences and corporate offices. This position requires a blend of technical skills, creativity and a passion for art, ensuring each client experience is exceptional.
We are looking for a detail oriented person who is passionate about art, and has excellent communication skills. Experience in art handling, inventory management, and logistics is highly preferred.

As an Art Handler, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe handling of artworks. This position demands precision, care, and a deep understanding of the requirements for preserving various types of art.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
Art Installation: Skillfully deliver and install artwork across multiple settings, ensuring each piece is presented according to the client’s vision and space requirements.
Artwork Handling: Utilize industry-standard techniques to handle artwork safely, minimizing risk and damage. Prepare condition reports and maintain detailed records of art handling activities.
Preparation for Installation: Unpack, inspect, and prepare artwork and installation surfaces meticulously. Implement best practices for art storage, display, and conservation.
Team Collaboration: Work alongside our team of art advisors and registrar, contributing to a supportive environment where collaboration ensures the success of each project.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Experience: At least 3 years of relevant experience in art handling and installation.
Art Handling Skills: Proficiency in handling various types of art with an understanding of the unique requirements for different mediums.
Installation Knowledge: A solid grasp of art installation techniques and the use of related tools.
Communication: Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with team members and interact with clients.
Project Management: Ability to independently manage multiple projects with precision and attention to detail.
Driving: Valid driver’s license with comfort in operating cargo vans and light trucks for art transportation. Clean driving record. Willingness to travel as required for art pickups, deliveries and installation. Occasional out of state travel.
Physical Requirements: The role involves physical activities including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods. The ability to safely handle and install artworks of various sizes and weights as essential.
