EXPO CHICAGO seeks an enthusiastic and entrepreneurial Marketing Manager who will be responsible for creating all aspects of the visual brand of EXPO CHICAGO and for planning and implementing short- and long-term marketing and communications campaigns and partnerships to promote the annual International Exposition of Modern & Contemporary Art. Responsibilities will span social media strategy and content creation, e-blasts, performance tracking, website management, paid & trade advertising, digital & print campaigns and production, general ticket sales promotions, media partnerships, and more.

Responsibilities
  • Co-manage the company’s advertising budget, allocating funds to the statistically most efficient platforms including online and print arts and cultural publications, paid social, influencers, and OOH

  • Direct and draft all social media content, creating closely-monitored organic and paid brand awareness campaigns, staying abreast of new social media tools and features

  • Provide ongoing updates to the company website, including the press, visit, programs, and tickets pages

  • Build the e-communications calendar, designing and deploying e-blasts to specific audience segments

  • Track marketing deliverables for 20+ sponsor and hotel partner relationships and communicate the optimal recognition, benefit, and activation strategies, acting as an advocate for each organization

  • Manage day-to-day marketing deliverables with external press and design agencies

  • Build relationships with social media influencers working in the art, tourism, lifestyle, and luxury markets; conduct outreach, research, and drive social media engagement

  • Improve the quality of analytical reports, analyzing data to create refined digital strategies in alignment with company marketing objectives

  • Drive cross-marketing partnerships with national media platforms and local arts and cultural organizations with the goal of developing innovative and smart brand alignments

  • Create style templates for internal departments and external partners to use for streamlined digital communications, providing instructions for how to properly use EXPO CHICAGO logos, boilers, imagery, and other branded materials

Requirements
  • BA/BS degree and 4-6 years related working experience

  • Experience working at a marketing agency or in an arts-related institutional or corporate environment

  • Experience managing multi-platform marketing budgets and an understanding of branding principles

  • Experience working with external press agencies and design firms

  • Demonstrated data-orientation experience, particularly around using data and metrics to make informed decisions around strategy, and to measure success

  • Knowledge of modern and contemporary art

  • Familiarity with Chicago arts organizations, museums, galleries, and arts community (preferred)

  • Experience with managing marketing campaigns in a global business or complex organization (preferred)

Proficiencies:

  • Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel (incl. pivot tables)

  • Adobe Creative Suite or related platform for photo/video editing

  • E-communications platforms (such as MailChimp)

  • CMS platforms (such as Drupal)

  • Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn paid advertising

  • Google Analytics (preferred)

  • SEM and SEO marketing (preferred)

  • Google Ads & Experience creating re-targeting campaigns (i.e.. pixel implementation) (preferred)
