The Peabody Essex Museum is one of the nation’s most dynamic art museums and operates on a global stage through its initiatives, networks, and patrons. PEM is dedicated to transforming people’s lives by creating a museum experience that celebrates the capacity of art and culture to inform and change our understanding of our place in the world.
The Museum encompasses over 580,000 square feet of gallery and public space, including 26,000 square feet of exhibition galleries and 55,000 square feet of galleries devoted to collection installations and interpretation. PEM has recently added a 38,000 square foot new wing including 19,000 square feet for collection installations and additional public and educational spaces.
Responsibilities
We are currently seeking an experienced full-time Custodial Technician to perform a variety of tasks to ensure the Museum’s facilities and related historic properties are clean and presentable to our guests. Reporting to the Facilities Services Supervisor, the Custodial Technician performs work that includes routine cleaning, vacuuming, dusting, floor moping and refinishing, moving of office equipment, assisting with event set-ups, and other duties as assigned. Must be able to climb stairs, and lift and carry objects up to 50 lbs.
Requirements

A High School Diploma and the equivalent of three or more years of full-time custodial experience in a commercial, multi-building environment are preferred.
