New Art Dealers Alliance (NADA) is seeking temporary staff with an interest and general knowledge of art fairs and contemporary art to fill the following roles at this year’s NADA Miami. Candidates need to be available on-site at Ice Palace Studios in Miami, FL from Friday, December 1 - Saturday, December 9th, 2023, and able to attend a virtual orientation on Monday, November 20, 2023, 3:00-4:30 p.m. ET.
Positions
Shipping Crew/Ticketing
Shipping Crew members are required on-site for additional dates both before and after the art fair. These positions involve a high degree of manual handling. These staff members are responsible for managing art shipments, directing drop offs, moving empty crates, packing materials to “dead storage”, furniture building, and moving items from NADA’s offsite storage, etc. The shipping crew oversees NADA’s art storage area.
Exhibitor Registration/Office Attendant
These staff members are responsible for assisting exhibitors with the check-in process for ensuring they have submitted all necessary paperwork and payments. The role directly supports the NADA core staff with administrative responsibilities. Applicants should be resourceful, enthusiastic, and excellent organizational skills. Customer experience is preferred.
Floor Manager/VIP Desk
Floor Managers assist with booth orders and installation requests and function as the point person for an assigned group of exhibitors. These candidates must perform well under pressure and have good communications skills. Applicants should be solution-oriented and have a desire to work directly with art-world professionals. Experience working with contractors in a very fast paced environment is highly desirable. Existing knowledge of NADA art fairs is a plus.
NADA Shop/Friends of NADA Booth
Desirable applicants should have excellent interpersonal skills. This position is responsible for executing NADA merchandise sales and generating Friends of NADA membership sales. Desirable applicants have a familiarity with cashiering duties and ability to provide frontline customer service and information to NADA members and the general public.
All applicants must be legally allowed to work in the US and provide a W-9 Form.
Hourly rates start at $18/hour. Pay will be commensurate with art fair experience.
