Jack Shainman Gallery is seeking an experienced manager to lead our operations department.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the management and organization of our operations department with a focus on the presentation and handling of artworks in a variety of contexts. The role will require an experienced manager that is able to work within established structures, whilst seeking to create efficiencies that benefits and improves both our existing staff and the operational standards within the department.


The role involves the planning and management of exhibition turnovers and viewings across both our Chelsea galleries in addition to our participation at art fairs working closely with our team of art handlers, registrar, shipping and production managers. We expect extensive experience in all facets of art handling, condition reporting, artwork storage management and movement logistics.


Efficient utilization of gallery systems and a collaborative attitude to communication and problem solving is a must. Proficiency in cataloging systems, adobe and office suites is desired. The role requires a minimum of 4 years’ experience art handling, preferably in a leadership role and in a commercial gallery context. Experience working at art fairs and facilitating shipments is also desired. Ability to work collaboratively is essential.

Salary is negotiable commensurate with experience.
