Myers Produce is a regional distributor that operates throughout Vermont, Massachusetts, and New York City. Our team includes four positions that are based out of NYC. Our primary work is in purchasing fruit and vegetables from small, organic farms in Vermont and Massachusetts, and selling to wholesale customers in New York City and the Boston area.
We are seeking an individual to join our NYC-based delivery team. This is a part-time position that requires great attention to detail. This is the perfect position for someone looking to maintain a studio practice by getting their work hours done early in the day.
We are a creative and welcoming team that focuses on being a part of the sustainable food system by supporting local farms.
This position includes responsibility for two consistent weekly driving routes. The schedule is as follows:
Monday : 7am - about 1pm
Thursday : 7am - about 1pm
There may be additional hours available if the candidate is interested and access to organic produce at cost.
Our truck is an 18’ box truck and does not require a CDL.
Responsibilities
The ideal candidate:
Has at least one year of experience driving commercial vehicles
Has experience driving a 18’ or larger box truck
Is detail-oriented
Is an excellent communicator
Is interested in our mission
Is familiar with Brooklyn and Manhattan
Is capable of lifting 50 lb boxes
Is more than capable of early mornings
Is ready to engage with the physical as well as mental challenges that are common in this line of work
