Berggruen Gallery

Berggruen Gallery seeks a Public Relations & Marketing Associate. The PR & Marketing Associate is responsible for the publicly facing presentation of the gallery heading up the marketing strategy and voice of the gallery, as well as engaging and garnering interest from the arts and local community.

This full-time position is based in San Francisco, California, and reports on-site to the Directors and Owner. Working hours are 9am — 5pm, Monday — Friday.


Marketing Specialist/Events and Outreach

  • Work with Directors to develop programming and community outreach by conceptualizing and planning events and activities that engage the local community by collaborating with local organizations, schools, and businesses to organize exhibitions, workshops, talks, and other cultural events.

  • Leads weekly Marketing meetings owning agenda and KPIs.

  • Responsible for creating a marketing schedule to include drafting and execution of multi-channel email marketing in conjunction with other digital marketing initiatives, including but not limited to research, analytics and content strategy. 

  • Grows and expands social media presence into new social media platforms and increases the presence on existing platforms, including Instagram, Meta, LinkedIn, and EventBrite.

  • Creating informative content and visual and written editorials for all means of communication.

  • Manage print and digital advertisement placements. 

  • Ensures brand consistency across all channels, offline and online.

Exhibition and Art Fair Marketing 

  • Owns gallery exhibition, art fair and marketing calendars to help advise on exhibition planning and opening dates to not conflict with art fairs and relevant local arts events. 

  • Works with Directors to create exhibition contracts and track all relevant dates.

  • Schedule installation photography.

  • Announcement Card publication lead.

  • Work with Directors to identify relevant press for each exhibition and send printed and email press releases to targeted writers and publications. 


The ideal candidate will have at least two years of related experience in public relations or marketing fields, an interest in the art business, possess excellent organizational skills, be highly motivated, and excel in an extremely fast-paced environment. Candidate must possess strong written and verbal communication skills and be extremely detail-oriented. Candidate must exhibit the ability to prioritize, multi-task, and take initiative. Candidate must be detail-oriented, discreet, diplomatic, dependable, proactive, mature, and above all, a team player.
