This is a 12-month contract, benefits-eligible position.
The Lucas Museum is seeking a highly motivated and results oriented Recruiter to join our People team. Reporting to the Director, Talent Acquisition, the Recruiter will be responsible for sourcing, screening and presenting candidates to multiple departments within the organization while maintaining an exemplary hiring process and candidate experience. The Recruiter will play a crucial role in attracting top talent, building strong candidate relationships, building a pipeline, and ensuring a smooth recruitment process. The successful candidate will have a passion for the advancement of arts and cultural institutions in Los Angeles and alignment with the museums culture, values, and vision.
Implement effective sourcing strategies to attract a diverse pool of qualified candidates through various channels, including online job boards, social media platforms, networking events and direct sourcing techniques
Review resumes, applications, and other candidate materials to assess qualifications, skills, and experience
Conduct initial phone or video interviews to evaluate the candidate’s suitability for specific roles and
ensure alignment with position requirements
Collaborate with hiring manager to understand position requirements, assess cultural fit, and develop effective candidate evaluation criteria
Utilize applicant tracking system and other recruitment tools to track candidate progress, maintain accurate candidate records, and generate recruitment reports on metrics
Provide departmental administrative and clerical support, as directed by the Director, Talent Acquisition
Conduct reference checks and background screenings as required
Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations and company policies throughout the recruitment process, including data privacy, equal employment opportunity, fair chance hiring and diversity, inclusion, and accessibility initiatives
Supports the job description review process to ensure compliance and correct FLSA classification
Assists with updating and tracking candidate activities in the museum’s applicant tracking system (ATS)
Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging recruitment technologies
Assists with a range of special projects as assigned
Bachelors degree or 4 or more years’ experience in talent acquisition
Previous experience at an art, cultural, or educational institution is a plus
Previous experience developing and managing recruiting strategies and identifying recruiting events, sources and other outreach strategies
Knowledge of EEO, OFCCP, ADA and employment laws
Thorough understanding of hiring, candidate selection and assessment processes
