Position Summary
We are seeking a Storage and Inventory Technician for full-time employment in our Long Island City, NY office to be a key contributor in assuring our services meets or exceeds our customers’ expectations. Our Storage and Inventory Technician works with our Storage Department to ensure the housing and inventorying of collections remain the focus of the storage department. All applicants must have positive, progressive attitudes and experience working in groups.
Responsibilities
Job duties
Conducts and maintains storage inventories
Accepts delivery of collections, prepares paperwork and photographs and creates new records for objects
Assist with receiving and releasing of art work and general art handling
Places artworks securely into storage and racking
Enters locations into the database system after reconciling object type and description
Inspects artwork, prepares condition reports and related documents
Other duties as assigned to meet the mission of the Storage Department
Qualifications
At least 1-year employment in an art handling, gallery, museum, art collections, etc.
Knowledge of art-handling best practices, safety-conscious with blades & hand tools.
Familiar with basic registrational principles is a plus
Minimum of high school degree or equivalent; minimum 18 years of age.

Ability to effectively communicate with others (verbally and in writing)

Salary Range: $25.00 to $28.00 per hour DOE
