This is an exciting opportunity for a graphic designer to join Phillips on a temporary basis. Phillips is an international auction house specializing in contemporary art and design.

You will be producing a range of printed proposals for our proposals/business development team. When not focusing on proposals, you will be working on brand and corporate initiatives, as well as marketing material for auctions/sales including high-end catalogues, advertising, window and exhibition graphics and invitations.

We are looking for someone who is happy to work in a small team of graphic designers, working directly with department heads and global marketing teams to produce outstanding work.

Responsibilities

FREELANCE SERVICES

  • Work primarily with creative and the proposals team to conceptualize high stake proposals.

  • Take and shape creative briefs into competitive, beautiful, high end pitches/proposals.

  • Understand, lead and interpret the creative vision of Phillips ensuring the brand is consistent.

  • Design files for printed proposal books and packaging.

  • Work with full creative team (designers and producers) in order to participate in conceptualizing auction campaigns.

  • Work with Production Artists to formulate gallery signage specifications for auctions.

  • Pitch in as necessary to assist with day to day requests.

  • Adhere to the brand guidelines as well as the company vision and values.

  • Build mocks and light retouching in Photoshop.

  • Prep and release files, for print, to various vendors under the oversight of our print production director.

Requirements

EDUCATION, PROFESSIONAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • 5-8 years of experience in print design and a thorough understanding of the print production process.

  • Must know and understand Adobe CC.

  • Excellent experience with Photoshop.

  • Excellent experience with InDesign along with print production knowledge

  • Packaging design experiences a plus.

  • Strong attention to detail and strong typography skills.

  • Interest in Contemporary Art and Design.

  • Previous experience in the Contemporary Art field/market a huge plus.

  • Previous experience in designing proposals for an auction houses a huge plus.

  • Previous experience with luxury brands/products desirable.

  • Highly organized and motivated with the ability to deal with multiple tasks.

  • Quick learner who can adapt easily and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Flexible, adaptable and a self-starter.

  • Strong presentation skills, with the confidence to explain creative concepts to various teams.

  • Capable of managing a high volume of work and able to work flexible hours.

  • Able to work collaboratively with all members of the creative team, including production directors and writers.

  • Ability to learn Phillips’ internal programs, systems and software.
