e-flux seeks a Web Developer/Designer to assist with special web-based projects, with the availability to begin immediately. Strong candidates will have experience working in HTML and CSS, as well as a flexible schedule to take on projects with varying timelines. A background in graphic design or in developing websites for the arts is a plus.
The person in this position will be responsible for developing front-end additions to e-flux project sites in a way that is consistent with the rest of the site’s design and organizational system. The position functions on a project-to-project basis.
Responsibilities
providing design sketches of new site pages
working within a pre-existing CMS to bring digital artist projects to fruition
ability to collaborate with a wide range of people
prompt communication
Requirements
experience in professional web development and design, preferably within the arts
excellent written and verbal communication skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail
knowledge of graphic design best practices for both print and web projects
strong technical background with advanced computer skills and understanding of HTML and CSS
ability to work independently and as a member of a team
knowledge of web usability best practices, website navigation design and flow, content classification, and content management methods and systems
knowledge of contemporary art is a plus
