e-flux seeks a Web Developer/Designer to assist with special web-based projects, with the availability to begin immediately. Strong candidates will have experience working in HTML and CSS, as well as a flexible schedule to take on projects with varying timelines. A background in graphic design or in developing websites for the arts is a plus.

The person in this position will be responsible for developing front-end additions to e-flux project sites in a way that is consistent with the rest of the site’s design and organizational system. The position functions on a project-to-project basis.

Responsibilities
  • providing design sketches of new site pages

  • working within a pre-existing CMS to bring digital artist projects to fruition

  • ability to collaborate with a wide range of people

  • prompt communication

Requirements
  • experience in professional web development and design, preferably within the arts

  • excellent written and verbal communication skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail

  • knowledge of graphic design best practices for both print and web projects

  • strong technical background with advanced computer skills and understanding of HTML and CSS

  • ability to work independently and as a member of a team

  • knowledge of web usability best practices, website navigation design and flow, content classification, and content management methods and systems

  • knowledge of contemporary art is a plus
