The Future Perfect seeks a full-time Art Handler, with experience driving a 16 foot box truck in and around the NYC area, to support day-to-day warehouse and offsite activities out of the Brooklyn warehouse. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years’ experience working in New York City, with knowledge of inventory management, proper packing techniques, is comfortable handling a wide range of delicate and valuable objects and some experience trucking. This position will report to the Warehouse Manager.
Responsibilities
Proper handling of decorative art and furniture, using the appropriate methods and materials for inspecting, packaging, loading & securing for safe storage or transport
Deliveries within The Future Perfect, businesses or to client’s homes
Preparation and careful execution of paperwork, including, photographing, detailed inspection reports, bills of lading, labels, etc.
Receive and release shipments at the warehouse
Pack inventory for local, national and international transportation and storage
Support to internal teams, as needed
Occasional overtime, therefore, a flexible schedule is required
Other projects as assigned by Manager
Requirements
3 years experience with art handling/ truck driving
Team Player, able to work in a fast-paced, detail-oriented and dynamic environment
Demonstrated knowledge of packing and general handling of diverse inventory
Excellent communication and attention to detail to both clients and coworkers
Ability to problem solve and navigate onsite issues with the experience to know when to escalate problems to supervisor
Valid driver’s license
Ability to push and pull 150 pounds on a dolly or cart, as well as 50 pounds without mechanical aid
Ability to carry 40 pounds of varying size and shape up to a distance of 90 feet
Ability to stand, walk, squat, bend, kneel, crouch, twist, and reach overhead
Familiarity with the use of hand trucks, pallet jacks, jbars, dollies and other necessary warehouse equipment
