Vanessa Beecroft Studio is a renowned art studio founded by the Italian contemporary artist Vanessa Beecroft. She specializes in creating large-scale installations, performances, and sculptures that explore themes of identity, femininity, and consumerism. We are currently seeking an experienced and skilled Art Handler to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the arts and a keen eye for detail, with a proven track record of handling valuable and delicate artworks.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
Handling and transporting valuable and delicate artwork to and from exhibitions, galleries, museums, and private collections
Constructing large stretchers for paintings
Repairing/building studio and office furniture
Carpentry or Handyman skillset
Packing and unpacking artwork using industry-standard methods and materials
Installing and de-installing artworks according to museum and gallery standards
Maintaining a clean and organized work environment
Communicating effectively with clients, curators, and other team members
Adhering to safety regulations and protocols
Requirements
Requirements:
A minimum of 3 years of experience in art handling or a related field
Knowledge of proper handling, packing, and installation techniques for various types of artwork
Ability to safely load and secure a truck with works of varying media
Demonstrable ability to pack artworks of various media
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Dependable, punctual and team oriented
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed
Ability to lift and carry up to 60 pounds
