Vault Fine Art Services provides discrete, full-service fine art services, including conservation, complex installations and storage throughout Central Texas.
Vault uses museum quality protocols to install, store and care for our clients most valued collections with services designed to address their collection’s specific needs.
Vault is seeking an experienced Art Handler to join our team in a full time position who will work with our art handling team to ensure that all of the collections that we connect with are safe and protected.
Responsibilities
Client interactions & Client facing
Learn and put into place client facing protocols and structures that manage client interaction that are laid out by the Director of Operations.
Paperwork Flow
Ensuring that all required paperwork for each job is loaded on each tray for each vehicle every morning. Ensuring that all paperwork is filled out in its entirety and complete BOL’s are returned within the trays to the correct destination in the warehouse upon completion of the day’s jobs.
Safely handle and install artworks and various sculptural works
Sensitivity to artwork requirements - handling needs and restrictions.
Safe packing and unpacking artworks of various types.
Flagging tool and hardware needs for drilling/hammering/filling and artwork weight capacity.
Hardware selection for specific weights and wall types.
Troubleshooting installations with Crew Chief and Installation Coordinator to find solutions to issues.
Tool Protocol in client’s homes.
Fleet Maintenance
Responsible for maintaining the proper fluid/gas levels, tire air pressure, electronics and general function of each vehicle in working order and presentable for clients and clean to work in each morning before loading out and before leaving each day.
Fleet Equipment Maintenance
Responsible for ensuring all ties, straps, packing materials and vehicle designated tools needed for a given day are loaded and strapped in securely both in the morning and before leaving each day.
Requirements
Team player
1-2 Years of professional installation experience and packing and handling art.
Tool use experience. Power and hand tools.
A clean driving license and ability to drive a 16ft Box Truck.
Ability to problem solve.
Ability to take direction from multiple supervisors and clients.
Excellent decorum with clients.
Considerate and respectful with the ability to anticipate on site logistics to ensure our client’s property and homes are respected throughout the installation process.
