DDG Frameshop - Design and Administrative Assistant

Museum quality fine arts picture frame shop is looking for a new design and administrative assistant to join our team. We are looking for a reliable self–starter with a love of organization, art, and superior craftsmanship.

This is a great entry level opportunity for someone interested in a professional career path in the arts. At DDG, we hold ourselves to the highest standards of archival framing and design, delivering state-of-the-art final products to museums, galleries, and private collectors. Responsibilities
  • Assisting the frame designers with incoming artwork, including labeling and updating artworks into our database system

  • Preparing artworks for work orders through filling outwork sheets and measuring artworks, and eventually learning to use our software program, Frame Ready

  • Tracking and updating locations of art works within the shop

  • Helping to maintain a clean shop, organizing supplies, and alerting management of materials to restock

  • Answering phone calls and taking messages

  • Taking notes and general assistance to frame designers during client meetings

  • Filing and other paperwork sorting

  • Processing work orders, scanning artist signatures, and preparing provenance and labels for new jobs

  • Eventually learning our billing processes and sending invoices

  • Lending a helping hand to production team members when need be, including cutting down materials, wrapping outgoing artwork, and receiving deliveries from vendors and clients

Requirements
  • Detail oriented with a natural inclination towards organization

  • Interest in fine art and design

  • Good communicator with professional emailing abilities

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Google Docs, and general computer skills. Familiarity with QuickBooks and Photoshop are a plus.

  • Mindful of work pace, production deadlines, and an ability to work systematically

  • Team player who gets along well with others

  • Takes pride in one’s work and eagerly desires to increase skill set

  • Knowledge of proper art handling and packaging procedures
