We are a small art framing company that has been in business since 1987.

Our frame designs range from Gilded, European & Mid-Century to Contemporary. With a long-running client focus on galleries, artists, designers, and museums; we also have a steady retail business of art collectors and clients from servicing the bay area and beyond over the last 34 years.

So, we are in need of an experienced frame builder/woodworker to help continue the legacy and manage frame production while maintaining a full shop area for themselves. This positions is open for growth as an early manager of your position working directly with the shop owners to build the business and develop your own frame design and finishing ideas. Hopefully ready to begin production immediately.

  • Full Time needed Mon - Fri.

  • Part-time considered with experience.

Responsibilities
  • Custom and Hand joined frames.

  • Frame and Strainer Cutting / Joining, Splining.

  • Shop maintenance, development, and organization. Make the space your own.

  • Keep an eye on inventory of mouldings and additional materials in the woodworking areas.

  • Maintain Archival/ Museum Quality practices for art work.

  • Assist in completing project deadlines and help develop the art framing services into a new era of ownership and growth.

Requirements
  • Wood Fabrication Equipment : Mitre Saw and Moulding Chopper Experience preferred.

  • Mitre Vise Experience preferred.

  • Paper and Art Handling experience.

  • Straight Edge cutting and trimming of various art materials.

  • Frame Fitting, Mat Cutting, Art Mounting/Hinging experience desired as well.

  • Canvas Stretching experience a plus.

  • This position requires the ease of ability to lift up to 40 lbs. and requires standing most of the day.
