We are a small custom picture framing company specializing in handmade contemporary picture frames. We primarily work with galleries, museums and institutions but also have a growing individual retail business. The right candidate for the job will be a very experienced fitter; we are looking for someone to step right into production. Experience and proficiency in conservation methods and techniques is a must. Details and quality control are paramount.
Responsibilities
Handling, storing art
Mounting art using various conservation techniques
constructing the elements of the faming package from
conservation materials
- Trouble shooting materials, and performing minor repairs to
art materials
Neatly wrapping finished projects
Overseeing junior fitters/framers
Maintaining shop organization and cleanliness
Requirements
We are only looking for someone who has enough experience in the listed areas to begin production immediately.
The position requires standing for most of the day, the ability to confidently lift 40lbs. and traversing a flight of stairs to reach the work area, other accommodations are not possible at this time.
