The Programming Assistant will learn valuable producing skills while supporting the execution of live performance programs; providing artist services, production assistance, office management and administrative support during the fall and spring seasons. The salary for the scope of work is $25 per hour for approximately 15-20 hours or 2-3 days per week, with flexibility for more hours during busy periods.

Responsibilities

Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Administration, Production Assistance and Artist Services

  • Work in close partnership with Performance Space’s Producer and Head of Community Access and Inclusion to support the execution of successful projects, community events, and ancillary programs.

  • Attend programming meetings and maintain regular office hours.

  • Work closely with the Producer to administer and execute artist contracts, track running costs, and submit timely payments.

  • Coordinate artist services including artist transportation, accommodation, hospitality, and welcome packets.

  • Perform production assistant duties as needed including: running local errands for project supply pickups, coordinating artist hospitality during production periods, and maintaining an available, helpful, and physical presence in the spaces for artist residency and production weeks.

  • Assist Producer and Head of Community Access and Inclusion with coordinating accessibility services and providers on-site.

  • Support Deputy Director and Development Associate with Special Events including donor/cultivation dinners, private events, parties, & openings.

  • Adhere to department workflow and timelines.

  • Ability to work assigned nights and weekends.

  • Project-specific duties as assigned.

Office Management Duties

  • Oversee the organization and cleanliness of the office and kitchen spaces..

  • Order office and kitchen supplies as needed and manage storage.

  • Manage the office supplies budget and recurring orders.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must have a US Driver’s License in good standing!

  • Obsessive attention to detail and task-management.

  • Fluency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite, with superior competency in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets.

  • Ability to maintain composure and humor in a fast-paced work environment.

  • Previous experience working collaboratively with QTPOC+.

  • Ability to communicate information effectively, both verbally and written.

  • Minimum 2 years professional experience working in areas of cultural administration and company management in live performance.
