We have openings for two preparators at the Museum of Craft and Design for temporary, full-time work deinstalling our current exhibition and installing our upcoming one. One position will run for 2.5 weeks, and the second will be for 1 week, between the dates of August 16-September 3. Preparators are brought in as temporary, full-time employees of the Museum with a salary between $28-35/hourly, based on experience.
Employees of the Museum of Craft and Design must show proof of vaccination to work on site. All employees will wear masks and practice social distancing. Some situations may result in closer than 6’ working distance.
Note: CA Assembly Bill AB-5 requires that Preparators are brought in as employees of the museum, rather than as a contractor. We now cover employee taxes, which would have in prior years been a burden on the contractor, effectively resulting in a higher salary.
